D'espairs Ray
- Coll:set

Note: 7/10, because I'm disappointed.

Generally, I can bare with pop, but really nothing more. It's very simple musically, doesn't bring anything special, but melodies are well done so I listen tp some once in a while. But there are exceptions sometimes.

First of all, I have to say that Yoko Kanno composed most of the songs on this album... maybe even all of the songs, I didn't have time time to check. And this, generally, is a mark of quality. It's rather simple musically... but this simplicity is only on the surface: if you take the time to carefully hear the songs, you will hear all the little melodies on all songs, the rhythms,..., that finally make all the quality (and originality) of this album. Add this to Maaya Sakamoto's voice, who is always perfectly in tune, from very low to very high notes, and you'll get a (very) good pop album! All of it has a rather happy atmosphere, it's pop after all, but it's ok it's so well composed that you forget your possible little need of darkness! And, cherry on the cake, she has a really good English accent: you understand what she sings in English even without checking the lyrics booklet!

Summary: Highly recommanded album to anyone who likes pop and/or elaborate music!
