La'Cryma Christi
- Zeus

(only mp3s: no album: no cover!)

Note: 7/10, because a second guitar is really missing here, and because I'm fed up with Taka's nosy voice: it would be time for him to try to use/"lower" this specificity, damn it! Make your job, damn singing-teacher! Make his go see a speech-therapist if necessary, damn it!!!

I would love praising this band, really, everytime they release something new it is my biggest hope. But everytime... hopes are deceived, because all in all it's too soft or because a song begins well... you wait for it to really become "something" (heavy or emotional), you feel like it can / will probably come... you wait... you wait... and the song ends! Which ends into frustration. And I don't like being frustrated when I listen to music. I also feel a second guitarist is really missing here (if you didn't know, I remind you that La'Cryma Christi's second guitarist left recently, just before they recorded this album): a second guitarist always gives some "guts" to music, and you definitely miss some second guitar riffs here: I can only wish them to find a new second guitarist in coming months.
There are good songs on this album though (Hot Rod Circuit, Desert, Don't tell me lies et Same old Shit (say "sit/seat"!) especially; yes I don't mention Cannonball because you definitely miss a second guitar on this one, up to me), even the instrumental song (Drone) is most pleasant to listen to, but... in the end, these are too few really good songs for me to say that the album in general is "good".

Final note: If only Taka finally learnt how to sing (and I mean sing, with his "lungs", not only "make notes") / use/master this VERY nosy voice that always destroys my ears (notes are often out of key or nearly out key because of that! DAMN IT! whoever is his singing teacher, I definitely don't recommend him!), I'm sure the band could begin to be something bigger... but it's probably already too late, because he's been singing like that for so long now: in France we say something like: "teaching is far easier and quicker than dis-learning"...
Hope, always hope...
